Experimenting today!!

Heyyyy people!!

I'm here to share a card with you. I played along with Unity's Friends with Flair, and create a card using Unity's itty bitty stamp.

I heat embossed script background stamp on my background panel, and then spritz lots of water on the paper, I then used my good ol' watercolor kit and threw three colors on there; Black, beige and blue. Because of water, my colors react with each other and overlapped at several points. After heat-setting the background, I punched an oval from above and adhered a piece of patterned paper from back. Oh and before adhering the paper, i spread some gesso through tim holtz dot fade stencil using a spatula. I love love love doing this. Before adding this panel to my second layer, I ran a piece of jute string twice and made a pretty bow out of it.
After that, I stamped my itty bitty stamp on a piece of canvas, frayed the edges using my nails and adhered the stamped piece of canvas on a book paper that was pre-distressed using vintage photo distress ink.
Thats it for now.
I hope you guys will like it. Please let me know, Ok! :)
Have a nice day, ya'll.

{be inspired}

Hello everyone!!
I'm here today to share a card with you all. The inspiration goes to Unity stamps, offcourse. Every time I purchase a new itty bitty, i just want to play with it over and over again.
I have NEVER participated in Unity's {be inspired} Challenge, so i thought to give it a try this time. They had a very fun challenge like always. You either chose a sketch OR inspiration photo, OR combine them both and create a card or a layout. I chose to create a card, LO is too big for me to handle. hehe.
This is the inspiration photo.
and this is what I have created using the sketch.
I used pink paislee papers (dont remember the collection. sorry!) for the chevrons, I used Echo park's bundle of joy boy paper line. I still have another 12x12 sheet left, thank goodness. Anyhoo, I distressed the edges of the centre panel in the background, using my tim holtz distresser. And then I layered few die cuts on top of each other to give my card some interest.

The sentiment is an itty bitty. And i stamped it using versa mark on a circle, that is hand-cut. Heat embossed it using black embossing powder by Rangers. And then colored it using faded jeans and black soot distressed inks by Rangers again. Love love tim holtz products.
And then i punched few small flowers using my retro flower punch, gave them a lil shape and adhere them on the bottom of my distressed circular piece.
tied a bow on top of the paper before adhering it to the main card, and ta-da! My card is done.
Let me know what do you think about it. I am realy pleased with the end results, so glad I did not make any mistake this time. lol.
Leave your comments, and I'll pay you a visit back.
Have a great day. Much Love.
Deeja.

Heat embossing & Dry embossing

Hello!
I hope you all are having a good day. I came here to share a card with you. It was a tricky one. I wanted to incorporate both heat embossing and dry embossing on this card. Being a newbie, i could not manage meeting my expectations, but i tried my best.
I, once again, followed Fusion card sketch this week.
This time Fusion inspiration colors were really soft and dreamy, i had to work REALLY HARD to work on that. And to be honest, I'm not so happy with what I come up with.
I combined both sketch and inspiration colors on this card. I used Stationery noted paper in the background, and then stitched a heat embossed vellum piece on top of the paper. The paper I chose has a ledger print, so worked great for the details I was planning to add. My vellum panel has white embossing, and to give it a lil boost I colored it using mustard seed and picked raspberry distress inks. Spritz some water on that, and let it air dry. Yes, I screwed the stitching part on top left. But I did not want to throw this card away.
If you can see the colored vellum here. And the real stitched lines.
I did not have time to make flowers for this card, so I used store bought flowers this time. I dont remember everyone, but the big flower in the center is by Prima. And its BEAUTIFUL. :)
Let me know what you think of this card. And please don't be so hard on me, pretty please! :D

Fusion # 7 entry

Hello again.

I'm here to share another card with you guys. Today I followed another sketch (yep, tough job again). But i guess i managed it well. The colors were not my type, though. But I had heaps of fun creating this card.
This was my favorite Fusion Card Challenge. What's fun about this challenge is, you either use the inspiration colors OR inspiration sketch. You can combine both of them and use them on one project, thats DOUBLE fun, right? :D
And this is what I came up using the sketch AND color inspiration.

First off, i lightly inked my base card using black soot distress ink. I used two different collections in this card. For the second layer, i used Prima lyric collection paper. And for my two rectangle panels, i used one mustard color cardstock to follow the inspiration picture. For second rectangle panel, I used Pink Paislee Portfolio collection. The mini doily is also from Portfolio collection, I die cut the doily out of that. Ohh and not forgetting the stamped muslin I ran behind the main elements. The stamp is by Unity Stamps. And i love love love their stamps, i only have few of the itty bittys. But I'm planning to invest in more. INSHALLAH really soon.
These two flowers are mulberry flowers. I die cut these leaves. And for some more dimension, added wooden label and tied a bow using baker's twine.
To finish it off I added some pearls on the opposite corners of the card.
So far, I'm really liking the results.
Let me know what you guys think of it??

I hope ya'll have a great day. Much love. Deeja!

I'm back on blogger, YUP!!

Hello Hello.
Sorry for being missing in action. God knows what took me so long to come back here and update my blog. I missed this place. I missed my blog. Although I did not stop creating cards/albums (thankfully). What brought me here are two challenges. Unity's itty bitty a day challenge AND Mojo Monday sketch 339 :D
Here's the Mojo Monday sketch # 339
This sketch was tricky, because I donot usually create tall and skinny cards. AND following a sketch is always a task for me.
Here's what I come up with.

These peonies are handmade. I added acetate banners beneath the sentiment (I hope I'm forgiven for that). This stamp by Unity stamp set is my FAVORITE amongst my teeny weeny collection.
That's it for now. I'll be coming back tomorrow with another card, INSHALLAH.
I hope you all have a great day.
Its night time here. Good night from me.
Love.
D.
